  • Model United Nations

    Published 14/10/16

On Wednesday 21st September, Farringtons participated in the Model United Nations (UN) held in Westminster at the Methodist Central Hall.

We took three members of the Sixth Form who were part of the debating team and several young and energetic volunteers, who acted as intermediaries between participating nations.
Farringtons School represented Greece throughout the day, a really important country considering what was discussed during the various sessions. The Model UN discussed the refugee crisis and the possibility of nuclear disarmament.

It was a wonderful day and whilst it was great to contribute to the debate and it was even more rewarding to see the students really thriving and enjoying themselves in this sort of formal setting.

  • Boarding: Go Karting Fun

    Published 14/10/16

On Sunday 2th September a group of boarders went to Go Karting in Brentwood, Essex.
When we got there we had to make our own racer profile. We then had to put on special racing suits before we could race each other.
We then had to watch a small safety video and one of the marshals told us about the rules. After a long wait, it was time to race!
We next went on the race track and when everyone was ready, the green flag dropped and we raced. On average, we all did fifteen laps. It was fun and enjoyable.
First place was secured by Kyle, followed by Diego coming in second position and Su in third. Thank you to Mr Suverkrop for taking us and capturing all the action!
