All intelligent young people love to question perceived values and knowledge and have their voices heard.
Farringtons are committed to providing opportunities for pupils to take part in internal and external competitions. Entry for external competitions is fierce and often success in House Competitions opens up such opportunities. This year we have pupils entering ESU Mace Debate; Debating Matters, Oxford School’s Debate, Rotary Youth Speaks and ESU Churchill Public Speaking. Other cross-curricular competitions include ESU Performing Shakespeare, Citizenship Foundation’s Mock Magistrates Trial and Haileybury Mock United Nations conference.
All Key Stage 3 pupils are invited to take part in our popular individual and group House Pubic Speaking Competitions.
Younger pupils are encouraged to take part in Debating as part of the taught curriculum in English and may be invited to take part in external competitions.
