GCSEs
Following on from the successes of our Year 13 cohort last week, we were delighted to welcome Year 11 into school this morning to receive their GCSE results. Once again there was much cause for celebration. The pass rate was particularly pleasing, with 89% of grades at 9-4, considerably higher than the national average of 67.6%. Equally, a good number of pupils secured a string of top grades (7-9). For a school with a broad ability intake, these results are tremendous and very much reflect the continuing upward trajectory we are seeing at the school in terms of academic outcomes.
We are, of course, thrilled that the pupils’ hard work has paid off and we are extremely proud of them; they deserve enormous credit, as do their dedicated teachers who have supported them. We very much look forward to welcoming the majority back to Farringtons at the start of September as Sixth Formers, ready to start their A Level courses. Likewise we wish the small number of students leaving us for other schools all the very best for the future. They can certainly embark on the next chapter of their education with real confidence.
